What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxCooperUnion, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxCooperUnion event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

About TEDx
Cooper Union

The TEDxCooperUnion 2017 team consists of a group of undergraduate and graduate students, all of whom have ambitions to change and inspire action in the local and global community. Art, Architecture, and Engineering are seen as three main aspects of life that provide stability and structure to the community. The team consists of students of various backgrounds, cultures, and ambitions, allowing for a wide variety of work to be done efficiently and communicated clearly. TEDxCooperUnion hopes to bring about unity, camaraderie, and change with the TED talk, by allowing both the school and the community to understand and recognize changes, and to teach and to inspire people to do something in their communities.
